Tag As FavoriteComment		Believe it or not...I did this gryphon in one day! Whoo hoo! My friend and I had talked about predators earlier in the day, so...I suppose that's what inspired this one. Plus, a lot of gryphs are done full bodied including wings, so I wanted to try to do something different...something that would be considered a good photograph. You can tell that my Art History class just went through the Renaissance and Baroque sections because of the chiaroscuro...it's not my usual shading, but I like it better...so who knows? It's a keeper. It's about midnight right now while I'm typing this up, so that's while I'm babbling like a three year old. Alright....I'll stop typing now. Really. Heeeere I go, no more typing! Do not cross this line already -->|

FLUFFY!!*huggles it* I love the shading, the left front leg (gryphs left) is a bit wonky but other than that... IT'S PERFECT!!!!!!!!

WOW he's BEAUTIFUL! This is probably my fave from you gallery! I LOVE the eye, and the brush strokes on the tail and mane make it look like a fine oil painting! Beautiful, just beautiful!!!

:-) Carol 'Talfryn Calhoun' Gravley replies: "You flatter me, lol! I don't deserve it. :-P This gryph may be one of my older pics on here, but it's definitely one of my favorites as well. It's not leaving until it absolutely has to, lol. The mane and tail were made using these funky splatter brushes in Photoshop, eh heh. On multiply, screen, dodge, burn, and various random shades and stuff, heh. Just play with 'em."

Very nice. i like the colors in the eyes and the body. It's also incredible that you did that in one day. Even if i could draw that, it would take me like two years...

This is really great... it looks almost like its chasing its tail... or maybe a mouse.... I think it would have been cool it you'd continued the fur onto the shiny bits.... the front legs look strange w/o it
